Bare Life Milkshake
Hot Cocoa Milkshake
As a professor who teach the history of chocolate as well as how to make chocolate confections, I have had several requests for recipes for iced hot chocolate as well as hot chocolate milkshake. A result of these requests is a whole food milkshake recipe in Confections of a Chocoholic which is really simply and is sweetened using whole dates. Some people do not like dates and want another option. There are plenty of recipes on the web for Iced Hot Chocolate, but many of them call for unhealthy hot cocoa mixes and whipped toppings with no-so-wholesome ingredients. Others are made from scratch and involved melting chocolate.
For those who prefer to use a healthy hot cacao mix AND avoid dates, I have created the recipe below using Bare Life - a whole food mix made up of only 5 ingredients. It mixes well into recipes as well as into beverages and, in this case, it involves no melting or heating.
