Vanilla SunFun Butter™ Spread
Introducing Signing Dog Vanilla Recipe Series
Today’s topic is delicious VANILLA.
For those who are allergic to corn, safely sourcing is vanilla extract is a challenge. For this reasoon, there was a season in my baking history where I went without the delicious flavor. until I discovered Singing Dog Vanilla which is both free from gluten and corn. While this status is enough for to make this Gal a fan, there’s more. Singing Dog Vanilla is Fair Trade Plus which means that the company looks out not only for its employees, but also the farmers and the environment!
As a big fan of the range of vanilla products offered by Singing Dog, I reached out to inquire about collaborating with them which has led to the series of vanilla recipes I will be sharing with you in the coming weeks. Make sure you check out my Instagram posts and stories for previews as well as to check out Singing Dog’s IG page for gorgeous pictures as well as information about the company and its farmers.
Here are some of the upcoming recipes I will be sharing:
Vanilla Petite Scones (with almond flour)
Vanilla Scones (nutfree using cassava flour)
Vanilla Coconut Milk Creamer
Hot White Cacao
Vanilla Cassava Waffle (Cones)
Vanilla Sweetened Condensed Coconut Milk Ice Cream
SaMz Vanilla (Cup)Cake with Muffin option
One way I like to add nutritionally density to my waffles is to top them with SunFun Butter™ with a little swirl of maple syrup for fun. All four Mini-Foodies as well as my Foodie-in-Crime enjoy this combination too. Rather than apply the two ingredients individually to each waffle making for a lot a work for this Mama, I decided to make a spread while adding another layer of flavor: vanilla. Whle this spread is so delicious that it can be eaten alone, it is so much more fun to pair flavors, so give it a whirl and let me know how you enjoy it.
Vanilla SunFun Butter™ Caramel Spread
Ingredients
3/8 (- ½) cup maple syrup*
1 Tbsp. Singing Dog Vanilla Extract**
Method
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl until fully incorporated & smooth.
Enjoy as desired or store in glass jar in refrigerator up to 1 week.

** For a stronger vanilla flavor, add an additional ½ Tbsp. vanilla extract.
Not Just a Topping or Spread
While this is a wonderful spread for waffles or pancakes, it can also be enjoyed on or in ice cream, with apple slices as a dip, on scones or muffins as a topping, as a filling in a layered cake or even as the filling for a faux peanut butter cup. Let your imagination run wild and tag me with your creations.
