Chocolate Savoring with the 5 Senses in Walnut Creek, CA

This is not your ordinary chocolate tasting class! It is for the chocolate enthusiasts who want:

- to experience chocolate through the 5 senses
- to deepen their knowledge of chocolate
- to develop their tasting palate
- to discuss pairing chocolate with other foods, drinks, & ingredients
- to learn how to savor chocolate
- to explore chocolate as a healthy food
& to have fun in good company!

The class will be up to 1.5 hours & there are 2 parts:

- Cacao components where we will taste the base flavors for chocolate.
- Chocolates where we will enjoy up to 6 varieties.

The goal is that the cacao & chocolates tasted are non-GMO, organic & fair-trade products when possible. We will actively avoid high fructose corn syrup, refined sugars, ingredients that are harmful to the person & planet, & well-known commercial brands.

Guidelines. For the best tasting experience, you are asked to:

- Not eat or drink (water is ok) about 1 - 2 hrs. before the class so that your palate is ready for the tasting experience.
- Not wear ANY scents / perfume or use scented personal care products so that we are able to fully enjoy the aromas of the chocolate.

Savoring with the 5 Senses
1. Explore chocolate’s appearance using the eyes.
2. Snap explores chocolate’s sound through the ears.
3. Explore chocolate’s aroma through the nose.
4. Mouthfeel explores touch with chocolate on the tongue.
5. Flavor explores chocolate through taste.
